Greetings! Welcome back to a fantastic week of teaching and learning!  This week our focus will be:

ELA-Making Inferences and Conclusions in Fictional and Nonfictional Text, Using Evidence and Details to Support Inferences and Conclusions, Suffixes, Singular and Plural Possessive Nouns, and Narrative Writing

Social Studies- Native American Groups (Numerous games are placed in Google Classroom to assist your child with studying.  Please ensure that he/she uses the reviews provided.)

The Native American Museum field study is in the process of being rescheduled.  I will update you as I receive information.

If you have not submitted your child's shirt size and paid for their t-shirt, please do so by Wednesday, September 26, 2018.

Reminders

I hope that everyone is doing well and staying safe.  This is just a reminder that on the day we return to school, your child's Landbridge Theory Cartoon is due.  Please make sure he/she is studying these notes as their test will follow.  It is also important that your child reads at least 20 minutes everyday.  I look forward to their soon return!!

Welcome back to a wonderful world of teaching and learning!  We are in for an exciting week of leaning activities.

This week our focus is the following:

ELA- Summarizing, Prefixes (un, re, over, mis, sub), Joining Sentences with a Comma and Coordinating Conjunction, Writing

Social Studies- Landbridge Theory

Reminders:
Make sure your child reads for at least 20 minutes every night.

Open House is Thursday, September 6th, beginning at 6pm.

We will go on a field study to the Native American Museum on Wednesday, September 12th.  The cost of this trip is $10.  Also, the cost of a class t-shirt is $10.  We will wear these shirts on all of our field studies for the year.

Our First Few Days

We had a wonderful first week!  Your child spent time getting to know their classmates and I, setting goals, learning more about AVID, and learning classroom and schoolwide expectations.  If your child hasn't brought in their red, yellow, blue, and green one subject spiral notebooks, please make sure that he/she does as soon as possible.  I look forward to the upcoming week and school year!
